?Frequently asked questions
How do I add several durations in hour:minute format?
Write each duration on its own line, in H:MM format (e.g. 1:30, 0:45, 2:15). The calculator adds them and shows the total in hours and minutes and in decimal hours.
Can I enter decimal durations too?
Yes. A line can be 1.5 (read as 1 hour 30 minutes) or 1:30. You can mix both formats in the same list.
How is the total converted to decimal hours?
Divide the total minutes by 60. For example, 6 hours 30 minutes = 6.5 decimal hours.
What is the average duration shown?
It is the total divided by the number of durations entered — useful for the average per day, per meeting or per activity.
How do I add minutes when they exceed 60?
The calculator carries over automatically: 45 + 45 = 90 minutes = 1 hour 30 minutes. No manual conversion needed.
How many hours do I total per week?
Enter each day’s duration on a line; the total gives your weekly hours, and the decimal form helps multiply by the rate.
What is summing durations used for?
Weekly timesheets, time spent on projects, the total length of a playlist, workouts or meetings.
Can durations be separated by commas too?
Yes, you can separate values with new lines, commas or semicolons — all are recognized.
